We're delighted to announce the promotions of over 10% of our staff across our private wealth, funds, corporate and support teams.

Within VG’s Private Wealth Team, six promotions have been awarded. Christie Barette, who has over 30 years' experience managing structures for private clients with a diverse range of asset classes, has been promoted to Senior Manager. Commenting on Christie’s promotion Director, Debbie Lumsden, said, “Since joining in 2021, Christie has demonstrated her ability to manage complex client relationships and manage a large team; her passion and care for the team ensures that each member is empowered to reach their potential”. James Amos, who joined VG in 2018, has been promoted to Manager. Mark Healey, Director, commented “James has been effectively managing several of VG’s significant clients for some time and very much deserves this promotion.” Alongside Christie and James, Charlotte Manby has been promoted to Assistant Manager, Tommy Ling and Tyler Hine to Trust Officer and Jonathan Chamberlain to Trust Administrator.

Jonathan Manning, who joined VG’s Funds team in 2021, has been promoted to Senior Manager. Head of Funds, Paul Mundy commented “Since joining, Jon has proven his ability to manage the team and lead them forward to support sustainable business growth. He possesses all the qualities you would expect to see in a Senior Manager and demonstrates significant technical knowledge, with over 15 years of experience in fund administration.

Joel Wheeler, who joined VG’s Corporate team in 2018, has been promoted to Manager. Steve Langan, Director – Corporate, adds “Joel is committed, proactive, commercially aware, has taken the lead in driving VG’s employee incentives offering. He has built up a strong industry network and will be looking to expand the team during 2023 to meet increased demand”. 2021 joiner, Michaela Ciobanu, was also promoted to Corporate Administrator.

Within VG’s support teams, Ricci Cook and Michael Bree have jointly been promoted to Manager – Accounting. Commenting on the promotions Iain Mason, Managing Director, said “Having progressed through the ranks during his 15 years at VG, Michael now heads up the accounting function, with a focus on funds, alongside Ricci whose promotion recognises the experience and knowledge he has employed to drive change and improve efficiencies across the function since joining in 2021. Within these newly created and collaborative roles, they will ensure that there are collective goals across the accounting function which will ensure consistency and a one-team approach to meeting wider business objectives”.

Having established herself as a go-to member of the Compliance and Risk Team, Carina Santos’s technical acumen and practical approach to good governance, has been recognised with a promotion to Assistant Manager. Lily Egre, who joined the HR Team in 2021, has also been promoted to HR Administrator.

Emma Stewart, Head of HR, added “Beyond our management team promotions, we’re delighted to be able to support the progression of school leavers who have adapted not only to the world of work but work-life culture and individuals who undertook a career change into finance by putting their transferable skills to good effect. This is testament to our genuine commitment to mentoring, coaching and providing the time and financial support required to pursue professional qualifications and, ultimately, progression.
